Single stage backpressure steam turbine
If low-pressure steam for heating or technological use is generated in the boiler, it is possible to adjust such a source and expand it by additional power generation. This adjustment increases steam pressure in the boiler, while subsequently reducing the pressure in the steam turbine to the desired level. The control system is properly adjusted together with the turbine, which allows common generation of power. Therefore, the whole process includes adjustment of boiler to higher parameters, and installation of turbine for additional power generation as well as auxiliary systems.
If there is a demand for sufficient amount of heat, the combined power and heat generation is possible even in operations where steam has not yet been used.
The technical solution consists in adjusting the original warm-water or hot-water boiler into a steam boiler. At first, part of the steam energy is used in steam turbine to generate power, and only then is the steam fed to heating condenser where it transfers the remaining energy to heating medium. The output is heating water with the required parameters.
